I have to say this portrait session with Courtney and Nathan is one of my favorites of the year so far. Not only because of this INSANELY beautiful light and super gorgeous couple, but also because it was probably the most relaxed shoot I had done in a while. I’m usually a crazy planner and scout every location before the actual scheduled shoot so that I have an exact plan for all of my shots and can make things easy and fun for my couples. This shoot was a bit different. It happened in the middle of my busiest time of the year and in the midst of the holidays. I ended up letting Courtney talk me out of going to scout the location beforehand as it was quite a bit of a drive. When we got to Palma Sola Botanical Park, I quickly looked around for some spots while Courtney and Nathan were changing into their outfits. Then, we just went for it.
After shooting for about 45 minutes, I noticed the gorgeous sunset light coming through the trees and knew we had to make use of it. I felt like a little kid about to walk into the candy store knowing you’ll walk away with something awesome–haha! And the film did not disappoint! We’re all totally drooling over these images and I have a rekindled passion for shooting film, the reason I originally started photography all together. I can’t wait to use this medium more and more again! 🙂
